Believe it or not, I sometimes hear from people who believe that they are going to have trouble fitting in all of their Medifast meals. Sometimes, they are talking about the five prepackaged meals. And sometimes, they have concerns about fitting in their lean and green meal.

Fitting In The Prepackaged Meals: A sample comment concerning the prepackaged meals would be something like: "I am a student and I don't always have time to sit down and eat a meal. And frankly, on my very busy days, I get so scattered that I forget to eat. Of course, the consequences for this is I tend to over eat right before bed time which I know is awful for weight loss. But that's the reality of my life style. Is it awful if I don't eat all of the prepackaged food each day?"
I can give you my opinion on this, but I'd strongly encourage you to contact the company and ask a counselor who is certainly in a better position to give you a sound answer. But here is my take. No one is going to follow you around and make sure that you eat all of your meals. If you don't, no one is going to come out of the shadows, point their finger, and call you a cheater. No one will know but you.

With that said, it's important to understand that you need regular food (which your body sees as fuel,) in order for ketosis to work. This is the metabolic process where your body burns fat. It can't do that if you don't feed it regularly. If you skip meals, you could potentially impede this process. I know some folks that swear that skipping meals caused their weight loss to slow or even stop. I'm not saying that this will be your experience. I just want for you to be aware that this is a possibility.

I do understand that it can be difficult to fit in all of your meals. I've struggled with this too. And I will admit that I have doubled up on meals on hectic days. In other words, I'll have two breakfasts, lunches, and snacks at once. That way, I'm only having to eat breakfast, lunch, my lean and green meal, and one snack in order to get in those six meals. You probably wouldn't want to make a regular habit out of this, but I see this as preferable to skipping meals and risking your results.

Another possibility is trying to eat one meal as soon as you get up and then another for your breakfast. That way, you've already got two down before you even leave the house. You can also save a few for the night time once you get home. (Since these meals are only one hundred or so calories each, it's not horrible to eat them at night.) Also, there's nothing that says you can't chose the ready made options like the bars or the ready to drink shakes. These require no preparation whatsoever and can be eaten on the run.

Fitting In The Lean And Green Meal: Another concern that people sometimes express is the ability to fit in the larger, prepared meal, otherwise known as the lean and green. Sometimes, I find that people picture this as an elaborate home cooked meal. This is a nice idea if you have the time, but not all of us have the time. I've used bagged salads, drive through salads, or even carefully chosen frozen meals. And you don't have to have your lean and green at dinner time. If you have more time at breakfast or lunch, then go ahead and have it at whatever time works for you.

As with the prepackaged meals, it's a good idea not to skip this so that you don't impede ketosis. Not only that, but it teaches you how to make sound choices and it ensures that you get fresh foods with essential nutrients. Again, no one is going to call you out for skipping it, but your results could be affected. With that said, I believe that you shouldn't beat yourself up too much if you're doing the best that you can. But before you give up, I'd suggest trying to combine meals or make better use of the ready to eat meals.
